The list below gives an overview of each BDTI benchmark suite and a link providing more information. The "Resources" column to the right provides other relevant links, such as information on the benchmarking process and how to license BDTI benchmarks.
BDTI DSP Kernel Benchmarks™
Measures processor performance on basic digital signal processing tasks. The BDTI DSP Kernel Benchmarks are the industry standard for evaluating signal processing performance and have been implemented on more than 100 processors. Based on 12 key digital signal processing algorithm kernels, such as FIR filters, a Viterbi decoder, and an FFT. BDTI's DSP Kernel Benchmark results are used to generate the BDTImark2000™, a reliable, widely used metric of DSP speed.
BDTI Video Kernel Benchmarks™
Measures performance on basic video processing tasks. This suite includes 6 building-block functions, such as motion compensation and image resizing, that are critical to many video applications.
BDTI Video Encoder and Decoder Benchmarks™
Measures performance on video encoding and decoding tasks. These benchmarks are representative of the processing found in a variety of video applications. Provides 70-90% of the processing load of typical video codecs (e.g., H.264), without the complexity of implementation.
BDTI Optical Flow Benchmark™
Measures performance on the types of highly demanding video processing used in video surveillance, driver assistance, and mil-aero applications. Determines apparent motion in a visual scene.
BDTI H.264 Decoder Benchmark™
Provides apples-to-apples comparison of hardware-software H.264 decoding solutions via standard test streams, metrics, and operating points.
BDTI OFDM Receiver Benchmark™
Measures performance on broadband communications applications. Based on an OFDM receiver, this benchmark is useful in comparing a wide range of processing technologies, including general-purpose microprocessors, DSPs, FPGAs, homogeneous and heterogeneous multicore processors, configurable processors, and reconfigurable processors.
BDTI DQPSK Receiver Benchmark™
Measures performance on a workload typical of wireless communications applications. Based on a common modulation scheme, this benchmark is useful for comparing a wide range of processing technologies, including general-purpose microprocessors, DSPs, FPGAs, homogeneous and heterogeneous multicore processors, configurable processors, and reconfigurable processors.
