BDTI DQPSK Receiver Benchmark

A communications-oriented benchmark suitable for implementation on processors and FPGAs

Overview

As part of its High Level Synthesis Tool Certification Program (HLSTCP), BDTI created two benchmark workloads that are suitable for implementation on both programmable DSP processors and FPGAs: the BDTI Optical Flow Benchmark™ and the BDTI DQPSK Receiver Benchmark™. These benchmarks are available for use separate from the HLSTCP program.

The BDTI DQPSK Receiver Benchmark is a wireless communications receiver baseband application that includes classical communications blocks found in many types of wireless receivers. It is a fixed workload with a single operating point defined as processing an input stream of complex, modulated data at 18.75 Msamples/second with the receiver chain clocked at 75 MHz. The receiver produces a demodulated output bit stream of 4.6875 Mbits/second.

Technical Details

The BDTI DQPSK Receiver Benchmark consists of a feed-forward chain of signal processing modules. These modules include:

  • Matched filter
  • Carrier recovery
  • Timing recovery
  • DQPSK demodulation
  • Viterbi decoder
  • Deframer

License to the BDTI DQPSK Receiver Benchmark

A license to the BDTI DQPSK Receiver Benchmark provides:

  • The BDTI DQPSK Receiver Benchmark™ Specification for use in benchmarking one processor, FPGA, or processing platform
  • Benchmark reference source code in C
  • Test vectors for verifying the functionality of the implementation
  • One-year license to use the above items for one project
  • Training and technical support
