We do important, interesting, varied work . . .
BDTI has a 25-year track record of providing insight, analysis, advice, and development on and of embedded processing technology. As one industry veteran put it, “These guys make a living by telling the truth.” Our clients range from Fortune 100 companies to tiny start-ups.
The breadth and depth of BDTI’s work never ceases to stimulate. Your first project might involve optimizing code for the inner loop of a video or audio algorithm, or perhaps evaluating hardware for a computer vision application. Next you might find yourself working on a competitive analysis project, writing benchmarking code and running tests to understand the strengths and weaknesses of a new processor. Then you might shift to articulating a clear, compelling value proposition to help a client better communicate the benefits of their products. Next you might find yourself on a “diligence” project, helping a company with a high-tech merger or acquisition evaluation.
By virtue of our position in the industry, we’re usually privy to new products and technologies well before they hit the mainstream. And because we see virtually every new thing out there, you’ll quickly develop a truly encyclopedic knowledge of the embedded industry.
with interesting, high-caliber colleagues . . .
The people at BDTI are bright, hard-working, personable, and fun. We’re from diverse places and backgrounds and bring a formidable array of skills and experience to our work. The formal educational backgrounds of our staff range from electrical engineering to music and business. (And yes, the MBAs and musicians know how to code and design hardware, thank you very much!) Weekends will find them taking motorcycle trips, camping in the desert, or flying kites with their kids.
in a creative and fun, team-based work environment . . .
Small project teams are the core of what we do. You’ll typically be working with 2-3 engineers on a project, trading ideas and passing code and hardware and analyses back and forth.
The environment is informal. While we take our work seriously, you’re likely to see a barefoot engineer standing next to someone in dockers and dress shoes.
and we do it in one of the most beautiful places on earth!
